I’m against copyright and patents. It artificially produces worthless slop and leads to socialism or oligarchy, depending on whether the government chooses to fix monopoly every 5 years. It’s also against free speech.
Oh, do you want your content to be “stolen”?
I don’t have a say in that. Copyright protection isn’t protection, it doesn’t work anyway, it’s just an annoyance. If you don’t hate me you will probably add some attribution, but you’re not getting raided if you don’t.
I also don’t have time to care about that.
Trolls
On youtube there have been people exploiting the automatic system and making money on it. It’s not sustainable.
There are many trolls that hold rights to works they don’t distribute, but sue people to earn money.
Poor creators
Most writers and other creators have given away rights to publishers, so it’s the poor small publishers that need money for bread, LMAO.
Before copyright there were many great works, and also copyright extends beyond the life of the author. Do you believe in afterlife? Copyright respects that.
DRM
DRM treats you like cattle or product.
Creepy patents
Many patents have Ted K vibes or are simply creepy.

“Yelling “McDonalds!” to end a television commercial for the fast-food restaurant is just one example of many “interactive commercials” contained within this patent.”

BTW this is discriminatory of people on wheelchair and mute people. It’s not that important, but for a large company it’s silly.
I recommend searching for some other patents if you want to laugh or cry or both.
It’s a mess
You basically need a lawyer to know everything. Fair use is a trick created by internet era that lets you technically break copyright but if you create new slop out of that in a transformative way, you can get away with it. I said before that copyright extends to afterlife, but at tho same time if that person can’t sue you, their work is basically public domain. Disney renewed copyright for steamboat willie almost for a century. You can basically buy a law.
“It has been claimed that these extensions were a response by Congress to extensive lobbying by The Walt Disney Company.” - wiki
Yes, long after Walt Disney was dead, the company was carrying it like a torch to 2023.
This should be illegal, but now it’s illegal to do the right thing and share with your community and friends.
It’s also worth noting that all programmers study freely available source code, and if there would be only proprietary software, literally no one would be able to learn.
