Just if it’s not obvious to you or you ignore your body signals, soldering fumes are bad just like smoking. Don’t bother about a trace amount of lead in air with a regular soldering iron/station. If you need to overthink stuff then think about where your solder is thrown away(to trash), and if all your devices will successfully go to proper recycling. BTW all your expensive or important devices are already soldered with lead-free, and they are fine. More affected by planned obsolescence and other problems. It’s just a question if you can solder a few things with lead-free or complain and go online to create conspiracy theories.
Also very important. At work you will have to work with lead-free, so it’s just delaying disappointment that perhaps you have some issues to fix.
Oh, but they will teach me new things anyway at work. Yeah, sure keep believing that. Sometimes they do sometimes they don’t, and just dump you and try with another person out of 100 people applying for the same average job. Sometimes we believe or expect that things are the way they should be, without checking and then get disappointed if it’s illogical and terrible instead.
