Consooming videos
I noticed a few people repeatedly on multiple linux entertainment channels and they didn't look like noobs. And i thought how weird it is that people belonging to elite club of computer users that know how to read and follow manuals with understanding, need to watch youtubers cover basic topics, show tutorials for coreutils, talk about new point releases of software, data breaches and vulnerabilities and how every new project is very promising and will take over the world.
They're also only humans and make mistakes, and usually get their news from written articles and real news sources, and often say things that are not true out of lack of knowledge. If you need to be informed about everything, just read what they have read. Otherwise you just avoid boredom and your favorite brand of slop is linux.
You need to take into account that being a beginner isn't a permanent state and making a channel almost only for them doesn't make sense for getting donations. There are channels that have many views but 99% viewers not subscribed(for a reason), and there are channels that people actually subcribe to.
And i didn't invent that situation, i stopped watching youtube regularly before 18, so it feels weird. Let's make it this way: I will donate some currency to a few channels that i found useful, AS LONG AS they have XMR address.😜 Hope they will still be around when i will be good with money like hustlers university graduates.
If you watch it, i'm not here to tell you what to do with your time, but it's a little funny to see on one side installing arch the only correct way(by reading the wiki) and on other watching youtube tutorials.
You know, i have enough knowledge in that topic, i have much more ideas and creativity when i'm with my thoughts, and some of these ideas i will write here. And also there's time for other better things to do.
Prodoosing videos
I feel like whole youtube is not sustainable, i don't know if they make any money off that, it's like a public space for videos. Weren't there like terabytes of uncut videos set in private mode on Linus Tech Tips before they got hacked? There are also many genres of videos like, 10 hour versions of music/memes, slowed/reverb songs, and videos that people uploaded by accident? Wait, seriously? Search for "MOV
Also if you don't get super popular, you can write for yourself, or a small group of people, and people probably did that since ancient times, but you can't make a "professional" channel without a big group of consoomers. Unless you just record vlogs or livestreams for a few people you know but that's like weird to not contact them directly, and youtube right now makes hosting cost nothing for you.
I literally just prefer to send something funny to a few people directly than post it on social media, personally.
If you use GNU Linux, you can make a comparison. Wouldn't that be stupid to maintain a whole distribution just for yourself?
